Frozen Fingers Fun-Fly 2026

Not too crowded out there.

Several members and guests braved the cold on New Year’s Day to participate in the Flying Hillbillies RC Club’s annual Frozen Fingers Fun Fly on Thursday. It was cold with mostly calm wind and a light dusting of snow. Two competitors took part in the flying portion of the festivities. Mike Eden was the overall winner, taking home a still intact and fully functional aircraft. Don Huffman experienced a motor mount issue, followed by a transmitter problem with his backup aircraft. Despite being unable to complete the last two events, Don eked out a respectable second place finish.

All the enjoyment you can stand!

Barry Doss provided a pot of delicious chili for participants to enjoy, Don brought us some tasty meatballs, and Laura Cox served her “famous” potato soup. Field-neighbor Joe Parcell stopped by and donated enough of his hand-made cream taffy for everyone to take some home. Donna Blake joined us and helped keep the memory of our dear late friend Bill alive in our minds. Between all the good hot food and Don’s propane heater everyone managed to avoid frostbite, and a good time was had by all.

Bullseye.
Gordon Blizzard showed us how to nail a spot landing with his DJI Mini 4 Pro.

The next item on FHRCC’s agenda is the Kanawha Valley WV Regional R/C Swap Meet at Coonskin on February 28. Don’t miss it!
