In this video, Kevin Morris of the FAA explains what it means when the FAA says they’ll exercise “discretion” when enforcing Remote ID between now and March. Long story short, he says that we’re expected to try to comply. The example he gives as a case where the FAA might not take enforcement action is someone who has a Remote ID broadcast module on backorder.

Morris also states that FRIA locations will be added to the UAS Facility Map, but he says that updating the database has proven “challenging.”
